About
our Church:
The First Spiritualist Church Of Willimantic
has been part of our community for nearly a century. Our history
dates back at least as far as 1918 when we were known as the
"Lyceum of The First Spiritualist Society of Willimantic,
CT". Our church is a Charter Member of both the National
Spiritualist Association of Churches (NSAC) and the Connecticut
State Spiritualist Association (CSSA). We hold services on
Sundays at 10:30am and all are welcome. Please also join us
for coffee hour after services. We periodically offer classes,
workshops, and Medium's Days; please see our calendar
for more information.

About
Spiritualism:
As defined by the NSAC, "Spiritualism
is the Science, Philosophy, and Religion of continuous life,
based upon the demonstrated fact of communication, by means
of of mediumship, with those who live in the Spirit World."
We believe that life continues after death, and that people
can communicate with those who have crossed over. Spiritualism
not only brings comfort to those who are dealing with the
loss of a loved one, it also helps us to remove our own fear
of death.
"A
Medium is one whose organism is sensitive to the vibrations
of the spirit world, and through whose instrumentality, intelligences
in that world are able to convey messages and produce the
phenomena of Spiritualism." In our Sunday Services, a
Medium brings messages to those who choose to receive them.
Periodically we also hold a "Medium's Day" where
several guest Meduims are available to give personal readings
in exchange for a donation.
Spiritualism
involves a lot more than just Mediumship and spirit communication.
It is a philsophy and a way of life, perhaps best summed up
by our Declaration of Principles, Motto, and Prayer for Spiritual
Healing, listed below.

Declaration
of Principles:
1. We believe in Infinite Intelligence.
2. We believe that the phenomena of nature, both physical
and spiritual, are the expression of Infinite Intelligence.
3. We affirm that a correct understanding of such expression
and living in accordance therewith, constitute true religion.
4. We affirm that the existence and personal identity of the
individual continue after the change called death.
5. We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is
a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.
6. We believe that the highest morality is contained in the
Golden Rule: "Whatsoever ye would that others should
do unto you, do ye also unto them."
7. We affirm the moral responsibility of individuals, and
that we make our own happiness or unhappiness as we obey or
disobey Nature's physical and spiritual laws.
8. We affirm that the doorway to reformation is never closed
against any soul here or hereafter.
9. We affirm that the Precepts of Prophecy and Healing contained
in all scared texts are divine attributes proven through Mediumship.
Spiritualist Motto:
"As the sunflower
turns its face to the light of the sun, so Spiritualism turns
the face of humanity to the light of truth."
Prayer for Spiritual
Healing
I ask the Great Unseen Healing
Force to remove all obstructions from my mind and body and
to restore me to perfect health. I ask this in all sincerity
and honesty and I will do my part.
I ask this Great Unseen
Healing Force to help both present and absent ones who are
in need of help and to restore them to perfect health. I put
my trust in the love and power of God.
